What are Product Boxes?
Product Boxes are fully customizable retail cartons designed to hold small or lightweight items and present them attractively on store shelves. They are commonly used for cosmetics, perfumes, jewelry, soaps, vitamins, small electronics accessories, and other products that benefit from eye-catching packaging.
Product Boxes can be made from different materials depending on the needs of your product. Cardstock Product Boxes are commonly used for lightweight items and retail display. Corrugated Product Boxes offer added strength and are better suited for heavier items or products that need extra protection.
What type of Product Box do you offer?
Our standard Product Box uses a Straight Tuck End structure, also called STE. It is a reliable folding carton format that displays well and is easy to assemble.
Are your Product Boxes recyclable?
Yes. Both cardstock and corrugated Product Boxes can be recycled. Recyclability may be affected by the coating or finish you choose.
Cardstock Product Boxes
Most are recyclable when clean and dry.
Recyclable coatings include:
- Glossy aqueous coating
- Matte aqueous coating
- High gloss UV coating
Soft-touch lamination is not recyclable.
Corrugated Product Boxes
Corrugated material is widely recyclable and often contains recycled content. As with all packaging, boxes should be clean and free of food or product residue before recycling.
What are some common Product Box sizes?
Every product box is fully custom-sized, so we do not offer fixed standards. Popular interior sizes for Corrugated Product Boxes include (L x W x D):
- 3.5” x 3.5” x 4.875”
- 8” x 8” x 8”
- 5” x 2.75” x 8.5”
Popular sizes of interior dimensions for Cardstock Product Boxes include (L x W x D):
- 4” x 4” x 4”
- 5” x 3” x 3”
- 3.5” x 3.5” x 12.5”
What material should I use for my Product Box?
Choose the material based on the weight and type of your product.
- Cardstock Product Boxes
Best for lighter items such as cosmetics, supplements, small apparel pieces, soaps, lip balms, and small accessories.
- Corrugated Product Boxes
Better for heavier or bulkier items such as candles, gadgets, tools, small toys, and products that need added protection.
Can I print on the inside and outside of my Product Box?
Yes. You can print on the outside only, inside only, or both sides. You may also select the No Printing (blank) option for unprinted boxes.
Ordering and Payment
How do I order custom Product Boxes?
- Visit the Product Box page.
- Select your box type, size, material, coating (if a cardstock box), printed sides, and quantity.
- Create your artwork using the 3D Design Studio, or choose the option to receive a dieline template if you wish to upload your own file.
- Add to cart and check out.
Do I need the box to have the exact dimensions of my product?
No. Always add a small amount of allowance to make packing easier and to account for any wrapping or inserts you are including.
- For Cardstock Product Boxes
Add 0.0625” to 0.125” to each dimension.
- For Corrugated Product Boxes
Add 0.125” to 0.25” to each dimension.
How do I know what size of box I need?
Measure the grouped or assembled items exactly as they will sit inside the box. Record the length, width, and depth, then add between 0.0625” and 0.25” of additional space depending on material and product weight.

Do you offer free samples for Product Boxes?
We do not provide free samples. You may order a single custom printed sample by selecting quantity 1.
I am a reseller. Can you waive my sales taxes?
Yes. Email your resale certificate to tax-exempt@packola.com before placing your order. We have limited ability to refund taxes after an order is placed.
Do you charge extra for the number of colors or amount of ink?
No. Digital CMYK printing allows full-color, full-coverage designs at no additional cost.
Artwork and Files
How can I design my Product Box?
Start by configuring your box on the product page. Choose your size, material, quantity, and printed sides. After that, you will be prompted to add your artwork. You can do this in one of two ways:
Design online
Select the option to design online to open the 3D Design Studio. There, you can add logos, text, colors, and graphics and preview your box as you build it.
Upload your own artwork
If you already have a finished design, you can upload your print-ready file after checkout using one of our dieline templates.

Do you offer design services?
We do not offer full design services, but our Prepress team can help with minor adjustments such as resizing artwork or rotating elements. We can also help generate a custom dieline or provide guidance on the 3D Design Studio. Contact us at info@packola.com
Production and Printing
What is the QR code printed on my Product Box?
The QR code on the box helps us track your order during production. It is placed in a hidden location and will not be visible after the box is assembled.
Shipping and Delivery
How will my boxes be shipped?
Product Boxes ship flat. They arrive glued and ready for quick assembly.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship to Canada, taxes and duties not included. We also offer parcel shipping to Puerto Rico.
How long will it take for my boxes to arrive?
Delivery time includes production plus shipping.
Cardstock Product Boxes
- Standard: 8 to 10 business days
- Rush: 4 to 5 business days
Corrugated Product Boxes
- Standard: 8 to 15 business days
- Rush: 4 to 8 business days for quantities up to 500
Shipping time is typically 1 to 6 business days depending on your location.
Production and shipping timelines exclude weekends and holidays.
